Reflecting on a year of Physiotherapy in Markham

By September 19th, 2025No Comments

To begin, I need to thank all our patients who come to see us at The Physio Spot. I love being the physiotherapist in Markham you choose whether it’s for physiotherapy, massage, acupuncture, or pelvic floor health – we’re always happy to serve and help you move better. The biggest compliment you give us are referrals from your family and friends! All the great people and a strong sense of community in Markham play a huge role in having my main practice here and, I believe, they are the biggest reason that we continue to grow! Thank you for your continued support.

I’ve learned a lot having a physiotherapy clinic in Markham. In the beginning, I had a lot of time between patients to work on the business. As we grow, as we experience more opportunities to help others, that time decreases. I find I spend more time working in the business. I get to showcase my skills, assess problems quickly, and help patients rediscover themselves and their abilities. It’s an awesome feeling. I’ve learned to earn back time and to help more patients, I need to delegate tasks to people that I can trust, people I know that will run things well. I have a great team at the Physio Spot, and it’s important I thank them, too. I couldn’t do it without them.

Ellen is a great physiotherapist with a specialist in pelvic health. Gerald Azzopardi is an excellent RMT with specialties in sports injuries, post-athletic event treatments, pre and postnatal massage, trigger point release, myofascial release and manual lymph drainage.

Working with all the great people from the surrounding community in Markham is one of the best feelings. We spend a lot of time finding the right person to not only help our clients, but they also are an essential part of our growing culture. If you haven’t been to the clinic, I encourage you to stop by and let me know if you can feel it.  I know I do and I’m optimistic about the future.

The clients and the staff at The Physio Spot make me proud to be a business owner and to experience our success together. My proudest moment was getting the sign put up!  We were initially renting the space within another sports medicine clinic, so people were a bit confused walking up to the front door.  Once we got the sign installed, there was a sense of actual ownership, and it filled me with pride.

We always want to be better though. We’re learning all the time. Feedback from our customers is incredibly valuable. We want to make sure we stay informed and up-to-date on all the treatments and specializations we can offer. I want to keep growing and adding smart people to serve our growing list of clients.  Hopefully, with more people, we can increase our community involvement and even add more hours to the schedule to help more people at all the times of the day.

I wish that I had launched my own business sooner in my career.  It’s a lot of hard work, but much more rewarding!

Thank you!
