Gavin has always had a passion for sports and physical activity.
From bowling on Team Canada, to playing varsity ultimate frisbee, and training in high level volleyball, he has experienced many injuries himself which has allowed him to have a strong understanding of how the impacts of injury, both acute and chronic, can affect sport performance and daily life. This is where his interest for Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation stems from.

When he’s not in the clinic, you can find him playing all sorts of sports, walking his miniature schnauzer, or having a good cup of coffee!

Saro has experienced his fair share of injuries throughout his lifetime – this includes everything from organized sports, weightlifting and long hours sitting at a desk. These various spurts of injuries exposed him to various settings including physiotherapy to manage and prevent some setbacks. This was his catalyst in pursuing physiotherapy as a profession – to minimize time away from activities people love.
Saro earned his Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Queen's University in 2017 and his Bachelor of Kinesiology & Health Sciences from York University. He has achieved his Level 3 certification from the Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal (AIM) physiotherapy program. He has also received his advanced certification in Integrated Dry Needling which helps people relieve tension and tightness in various regions of the body.
Saro has extensive experience working with athletes of all ages. He remains current with new research and employs an evidence-based approach in his clinical practice. He integrates functional movement patterns, manual therapy, dry needling and individualized exercise programs to help patients achieve their health and fitness goals.
Saro has a keen interest in crossfit, weightlifting, running and finding solutions to persistently tight muscles. He believes in analyzing the whole body to gain insight into the underlying causes of movement dysfunctions and discomfort.
Outside of The Physio Spot, you can catch him exploring new trails to ride his mountain bike, playing beach volleyball, taking on some crossfit classes or waiting for that perfect snowfall to go snowboarding.
